Yep, you read that correctly. Washing hands with soap is the most effective way to fight the war on the "rona", not hand sanitizer or pouring bleach all over your hands. Yes, people are actually doing that. Soap. Plain soap people! The more we wash, the more we will protect ourselves and others.
How can we spread the word about the power of soap? I thought it would be fun to start a Healthy Hands challenge. Here are suggestions on how you can get involved:
- Show Others How You Wash Your Hands: Take a picture or video of you washing your hands with soap. Post it on social media and hashtag #healthyhandschallenge
- Give Soap Away: Give the gift of soap to the most vulnerable. We have been working with Mercy Brown Bag and the City of Oakland to provide soap free of charge to thousands of elders and unsheltered people. We currently have donated over 5,000 bars of soap. Feel inspired to help us get an additional 5,000? When you buy 1 bar for Keep Oakland Healthy soap for yourself, 4 to 10 additional bars will be donated to the Mercy Brown Bag Program (Oakland, CA) and a Youth Housing Center in San Carlos, CA.
- Buy a Handbrewed Gift Card: We now offer GIFT CARDS! Buy Handbrewed Soaps gift cards for yourself, your friends or family. No waiting in lines here! Order and ship! For every $25 worth of gift cards you send to friends and family (or even yourself), you will receive a $7 gift certificate (that’s a free bar of soap!) for spreading the word about the power of soap and our family-owned business.
As always, thank you for being a part of our community. Stay Healthy My Friends!
