One question I get is, "how do I get started being creative? It seems like just another thing to put on my to-do list."
I thought that too, until I put creativity into practice. I had to figure out what type of creativity spoke to me by identifying what season of life I was in and what my personality needed.
I'm a mom of three. I get interrupted CONSTANTLY. When I do have time to myself, it's very limited. I also have the attention span of a dog with a squirrel is nearby. Therefore, any creative project needs to take less than two hours, and it's a plus that it caters to the kiddos as well.
Therefore any project that goes on FOREVER is out (example: cross-stitch, quilting, murals, etc. ) What does work is drawing stick figures, making playdoh snowwomen, Knifty Knitting, or baking cupcakes from a boxed mix.
There is NO shame in how you get down with being creative. Keep your eyes on your on paper (comparison is the root of all evil), and do something for 5 minutes.
