Brewing Soap: Where Do I Start?

I am a self-taught soap maker and a former classroom teacher here in California. Making soap was a way for me to de-stress after a long day in the classroom.

The beauty of soap is it takes less than an hour to make. So coming home after school to my kitchen to make soap was one of the best things that I could do for myself.

The Soap Companion by Susan Miller Catvich is what got me started on this journey years ago. Today, there are gobs of resources you can reference from the Soap Queen, the Nova Studio, Modern Soap Making, and many many more. If you’re interested in creating soap check out any of those resources. Making soap has been life-changing for me. It has decreased my anxiety, has let me turn inward, and I’ve even started my own business!
